lot of troubles, but he kept up his pace. During those years, he was working on strengthening unity, his commentary on the Holy Qur'an, and the improvement (making up for what they lacked) of the different intellectual sciences.

Eventually, this valuable scholar had become an expert in intellectual and traditional fields of science, such as: Islamic law, Islamic Jurisprudence and philosophy, Principles of Jurisprudence, mathematics, astronomy, theology and mysticism. He left this mortal world on Sunday, the 18 of Muharram-ul-Haram, 1402 AH (1977) in the holy city of Qom. He answered the Call of Allah at the age of 79 and his pure body was buried in the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Masouma (AS), next to the grave of one of his most successful students, Martyr Morteza Motahhari.

After becoming briefly familiar with this spiritual scholar, we would like to continue with bright stories of his scientific and personal life related through memoirs which can be used as a light and guidance for seekers of knowledge and those seeking good conduct and ethics.


The personal conduct of Allameh Tabatabaei
One of the biggest lessons we can learn from great people comes from their conduct. Their conduct is real practical evidence. According to a Tradition (Hadith) from Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS), it is necessary to invite people to do well with something other than your tongue. The good actions of great people, including Allameh Tabatabaei, are a never-ending list with a lesson in them. Here we will mention only a few:

Living it in God's Hands
As he said himself: When I first reached Najaf (Iraq) in order to continue my studies, I didn't know where to go or what to do. I didn't know what subject I should start with and with what teacher I would gain God's pleasure. I prayed to God to guide me towards what will benefit me and obtain His pleasure and acceptance. I rented a small house and stayed there until one day one of the great scholars approached me himself unannounced. He welcomed me to the holy city of Najaf, and we instantly became friends.
